a long, tiring journey to nowhere
The donut is a feature of many modern worship groups - one of the best
examples is found in Ealing in southern England. Unlike a labyrinth,
the donut has no centre - although there is no start or finish the donut
can be considered one big dead end. People jump on and off the donut,
rushing around for their own entertainment, or to achieve fame and noteriety.
The donut explores a number of themes:
Empty - all our groups are 'empty' at the core. The donut provides
a sugary though essentially un-nourishing package to distract us from the
emptyness of our experience.
Space - the donut is an opportunity to let go of our relationships.
The donut provides space and time for a good night out.
Camation - as we journey around the donut we are enouraged to think of
ourselves as interchangeable cogs in the wheel of someone else's big idea.

Space and time for a good night out.
The Donut pack, avaliable good at all cheap cathedrals, consists of two
meditative music tracks with a voiceover to help the punter make the most
of their alt.worship experience. While the traditional alt.worship
labyrinth relies on the avaliability of walkmans and headphones for each
walker, the donut is best experienced with a single sound system repeating
the donut meditations over and over.
