Well, I've defected now, so lots of this maccy stuff is less relevant
(and so the links are dying and I lack reason to keep them up). Not having
much luck finding Win95 shareware which stands up to the mac stuff, though.
The links are to the homepages of the authors or owners of the software.
They often have lots of other equally cool programs...
-
Apple,
for making cooler computers. I want one of those G3 thingys.
-
Kralizec/Zeta, for $1.50
an hour net access and a real community.
-
-
BBEdit Lite,
a thing which I've just remembered how cool it is. Freeware.
-
Graphic Converter, an excellent utility for every
graphics format. Better than GifConverter, which I nearly paid for. US$40
shareware.
-
JPegView. Not as many functions as Graphic Converter,
but quicker and smaller and easier to use. US$20 shareware.
-
Povray, the raytracer
I used to draw the spinning book. Powerful freeware!
-
Gifbuilder, which turns a set of gifs into an animation.
Freeware.
-
Transparency. A short little free program which you
use to define a transparent gif colour.
-
-
-
-
Leeb, who used to live here, for, well, living
here. And having music and a computer and an interesting brain and stuff.
-
-
Décor,
which put art on my desktop. An excellent thing. US$10 shareware.
-
Aaron, which makes your buttons and scrollbars and
stuff look much better. US$10 shareware
-
Earth. The spinning earth I had on my apple menu 9
years ago - returned in colour! Freeware!!
-
-
-
-
Troubled Souls
One of the coolest, most addictive games I know. For playing at night.
-
Kant Generator.
Also generates Husserl, and thankyou notes, and excuses, and...
-
MacBible. Not cheap, but it does everything you want
a computer Bible to do.
